Field Trip!!

This past Friday I went to Asheville, North Carolina for a field trip! We know some good friends over there that live in Asheville so for the first day we went and ate dinner with them (After I was through with being car sick- BLECH!) and swam in the pool until 1 in the morning. Our friends have kids ages 13 (Tanner), 5 (Cade), 3 (Harper and Haze- twins hehe)! They left at midnight but we all were supposed to be out of the hotel pool by 10:30 but we are rule breakers XD! After Ella, my mom, and I took a shower it was 1:30 in the morning and we went to eat at the Waffle House because we were hungry hahahaha!
Next Day- We woke up in the morning, got dressed and settled for a 1 hour car drive to a maple syrup farm! We have been recently studying pioneer life such as how the Little House on the Prairie people lived. In the winter, when it was cold enough, people go out to their Sugar Maple trees and tap a metal or plastic (or wood if you are talking about the pioneering time) 5 inch hollowed stick in a Sugar Maple's tree trunk and place a bucket up underneath to gather sap and make maple syrup, maple candy, and maple sugar out of the sap. We went up there and we took a tour. There were over 106 acres of land!! We didn't cover it all but we went up a hill and the tour guide showed us a big, ENORMOUS maple tree which was their main source of maple- but they also had 699 other maple trees to get sap out of! He then took us down to see two donkeys, one which was named Sally and she had a baby donkey named Jack. We got to pet their soft noses! Then what was truly amazing was he took us down to a BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG jar (about 650 gallons) of sap! The sap looks EXACTLY like water!! We got to taste it and it tasted just like water too but the after taste wasn't so great. We then went to the boiling spot! They add NO additional ingredients to make maple syrup- just get sap straight from a tree and boil it. The cool thing about it is that sap has only 1% of sugar in it but when you concentrate it, it turns into 69% of sugar!!

Busy Wednesdays, Yummy snacks, and acting class!

Notice in the title that snacks and class kind of rhyme haha! Anyway I am always busy on Wednesdays- School, then straight after I have to go to piano lessons, then acting class then super fast today I am going to the church nursery to help out! I went to the library today and I went to look for a book on Malaria because I am writing a book that is set in Africa and there is a disease called Malaria carried by mosquitoes over there. I could not find one book about it!! They were ALL checked out!!!! Does anyone know why? Are you people who are not homeschooled doing projects on Malaria or something? Anyways, I have to put some clothes in the laundry and then I am on my way to acting class! I think I will enjoy it! First I have to tell you about yummy snacks before I go! LOL! Today I ate the most SCRUMPTIOUS caramel apple! Now, I know they can be un healthy for you- but I ate it only for Valentine's Day, I am eating it very slowly. Not only does it have caramel on it but it is COVERED with mini chocolate chips- GOSH IT'S SO GOOD! Also, after piano lessons my teacher gave me some Samoa's (they are from Girl Scouts) With yummy chocolate on it! Well that's all for today... wait! One more thing...

Valentine's Day Party!

Today I had a Valentine's Day party for some little girls I know! My friend, Madeline, Ella, and I hosted the party. Gigi (3), Jenny (7), Sarah (6), Olivia (7), Abbey (6 1/2), and also Asher, my 2 year old brother attended the party! ;) We played games and ate cupcakes. We played Twister, Musical Hugs, Silly Face dance, and made crafts and did Valentine card exchanges!! It was very fun and we all had a fun time! Right now, I am at home watching Fly Away Home (It has one curse word h.e double hockey sticks) and it is very good! It is about some baby goslings a little girl finds and she takes care of them. There is some funny scenes!! I highly suggest you watch this movie!

Fridays.... busy, busy days!! School then babysitting then going to my dad's friend's house- every Friday! Today was a VERY... well... full day of babysitting! I usually babysit both Louis and Tom (1 and 3 years old). So today Louis cried the whole first hour (I usually babysit 2 hours) and so that was a little frustrating but I got him down for a nap. Then, Tom said he needed to go potty so I took him to the potty and ofcourse he went. :) Then like only 35 minutes later he said he needed to go AGAIN! So I was just about to take him when he peed (yes, just accept the word- PEE) all down his pants at once! I rushed him to the bathroom and his potty had dripped across the carpet! :P I cleaned it all up and then finally got him some new clothes! WHEW!! Babysitting can be a little stuffy at times! When I got home i was STARVING! (Hehe I'm home now- we are present) Now I have to go to my dad's friend's house. Bye bye!

School Project!

Today is my last day working on a big Social Studies project that grades big time on Language Arts and Social Studies. It's about the Revolutionary War. TRUST ME! I thought I knew all about the Revolutionary War but you really don't know near as much as I do now until you do this project! We are studying courage and we had to write down Ecclesiastes 1-10 (LONG LONG VERSE- MAKES THE RECORD FOR THE LONGEST SENTENCE IN HISTORY!!), play Yankee Doodle on piano (Yankee means dishonest and doodle means fool, the British made the song to make fun of the Americans), Include a copy of the Declaration of Independence, 2 National Park photos, 2 National Monument photos from each of the following: Washington, D.C., Boston, MA, New York, and Philadelphia. Color 2 pieces of art (Washington Crossing the Delaware), Make map of battles in Revoltionary War, Write Social Studies Vocabulary, Make a cannon out of clay, Read Chapter 1 of The Crossing, Research biblical person who demonstrated courage. WHEW!  Well, I just have to now make the cannon, and print out a couple pictures and color in the pictures. :P
Wish me goodluck!

First post!

This is my first post for this blog. So I chose to blog about something fun- Piano! I enjoy playing piano. I know how to play Linus and Lucy, and a lot of Christmas songs!! I play piano pieces in a lesson book, theory book, tech and art book etc! Piano is so fun and easy to glide your fingers and hear wonderful music! I am trying to learn Sweet Child O’ Mine (A popular 80’s song by Guns and Roses)! I have a wonderful piano teacher named Mrs. Dorazio! She is so fun! she gives out trophies :) Also I love to write! I am writing a book called Celia right now! it is about an Ethiopian 8 year old girl who gets adopted later on in the book! She is in the orphanage with a couple of girls and few boys. It was supposed to be “Andrew’s Home for Girls” until the boy’s home got full and the orphanage started taking in boys too. School is exciting too! I am homeschooled by my mom and I am homeschooled with my sister. We learn a LOT of Social Studies! Right now we are learning about the Revolutionary War, TTYL!
Hope you enjoyed my blog and I hope i didn’t make you fall asleep!!
